Hydrogenated graphene: Important material properties regarding its application for hydrogen storage

Chemically hydrogenated graphene possesses a theoretical hydrogen storage capacity of 7.7 wt%, and will release H2 gas upon thermal decomposition, making it an intriguing material for applications. Recent works have demonstrated that this can be synthesized at multi-gram scale quantities, has already been safely as source to power PEM fuel cell. While these results are promising, further characterization evaluation pertains must carried out. In work, we characterize various properties chemically graphene, which key in the application medium moving forward. These include: calculation material's total volumetric energy density, dependence both temperature surrounding atmosphere on gas, expansion heating, activation associated with release.
